IP-PBX for VoIP and it Function
IP (Internet Protocol) PBX (Private Branch Exchange) is a business telephone system that deliver voice over a data network and interoperate with the normal PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network).
Voice over Internet Protocol(VoIP) gateways can be combined with the traditional PBX functionality enabling businesses to managed intranet to reduce long distance expenses, enjoy the benefits of a single network for voice and data and advanced Computer Telephony Integration(CTI) features or it will be used on a pure IP system give advantages of greater cost savings, greater mobility, and increased redundancy.
An IP-PBX can be a hardware or software system.
it is use for analogue use.
IP-PBX functionality
it is being provided in software, it is inexpensive in cost and easy to add additional functionality, such as conferencing, XML-RPC control of live calls, Interactive Voice Response(IVR), text to speech/automatic speech recognition(TTS/ASR) , Public Switched Telephone Network(PSTN) interconnection ability supporting both analogue and digital circuits, VoIP including SIP, Inter-Asterisk eXchange(IAX), H.323, Jabber, GoogleTalk and others.

Function of VoIP
It can also transmit more then 1 telephone call on the same broadband connection.it can be possible to add an extra telephone line for a home or office use.
Conference calling, call forwarding, automatic redial, and caller ID; zero- or near-zero-cost features that traditional telecommunication companies (telcos) normally will charge more.
Secure calls using standardized protocols (such as Secure Real-time Transport Protocol.) Most of the difficulties of creating a secure phone connection over traditional phone lines, like digitizing and digital transmission, are already in place with VoIP. It is only necessary to encrypt and authenticate the existing data stream.
Location independence. VoIP provider need to get connected to Internet, where only Internet is needed. For instance, call center agents using VoIP phones can work from anywhere with a sufficiently fast and stable Internet connection.
Integration with other services available over the Internet, including video conversation, message or data file exchange in parallel with the conversation, audio conferencing, managing address books, and passing information about whether others (e.g. friends or colleagues) are available to interested parties.
